The promise of summer’s warmth just within reach has me wanting to clean out my closets, and my diet. So while I slowly purge my wardrobe and bathroom vanity, I’ll be whipping up some of my favorite breakfasts concocted from fresh, green ingredients to help whip my body into a healthy summer-ready version of itself. And if I don’t quite fulfill the beach-ready-body status, at least I’ll enjoy some of my favorite warm-weather sips like this pineapple smoothie… one of the first things I like to make when the weather begins to turn and sweaters get packed away into the back of our closets.
Green Pineapple Smoothie //
- 2 large handfuls fresh Spinach
- 1/2 cup Almond Milk
- 1 Banana
- 1 cup Pineapple
- a handful of Strawberries (optional)
- Honey (optional)
Blend spinach with about a cup of almond milk until smooth (this helps to break up the spinach), then add in the rest of the ingredients and blend again. I add in strawberries when I have them on hand, or some frozen berries. When I don’t have berries, I just add a bit of honey. Both versions are excellent. Enjoy!
