It’s the season where we put up the twinkle lights and raise our decorative glasses in a collective cheer for the holidays. This eggnog ice cream is the perfect accompaniment to any festivity, pair with sugar cookies for the ultimate ice cream sandwich!
I think I could absolutely live by the song lyrics, “It’s the most wonderful time of the year,” during the holiday season. Even yesterday, after having just arrived to Los Angeles for a week, I brightly commented to my husband about my excitement to get our Christmas tree up, to which his reply was an incredulous look. His surprise at why Christmas was on my mind while we were hiking up to the Griffith Observatory, turned into remembrance of my love for all things holiday.
Desserts are no exception to the rule, okay maybe fruitcake is excluded from my love of holiday goods. But during this season, it would be no surprise to find me whipping, stirring, mixing and baking. I do however want to make anything we eat with better-for-you ingredients, while being delicious and easy! I was delights to come across this Horizon Organic Eggnog. Eggnog has many of the same ingredients as homemade ice cream does, while the flavor combination is so different. By adding just a little cane sugar and a whole lotta cold, we’ve got eggnog ice cream. Organic better-for-you ingredients, delicious and easy… CHECK!
Seriously though it’s so simple.
Ingredients for Eggnog Ice Cream
1/4 C Sugar
Directions for Eggnog Ice Cream
Mix ingredients together thoroughly until sugar is dissolved. Pour into ice cream maker and follow instructions or pour straight into a lined container to freeze. That’s it! Once frozen, serve and enjoy! To make sugar cookie ice cream sandwiches, make cookies and place a scoop of ice cream between. Set sandwiches in freezer to harden before serving.
