These photos have been a long time coming. Well, a couple of weeks overdue anyway, and in newborn days… that’s a long time! And really, there are so many overdue posts that I have waiting in the wings. Waiting for an edited photo or a few more words, but lately my time has been spread thin, as you can imagine, even though our excitement over our sweet little baby and our family’s growing love is spread quite thick around these parts. So, without further ado… the last of our maternity series, Weeks 37 and 38:
For the last couple of weeks of this pregnancy, I was dilated to three and having contractions randomly, and yet seemingly regularly… meaning they were at random times and for random lengths of time, but everyday. And actually, during this photo session, I was in the middle of some pretty intense contractions. It’s strange how every pregnancy is so different, and with each of my three, I experienced such a range of feelings, both physically and emotionally. I have to say, I never experienced contractions with the first two like I did with our littlest boy. He started his life with us in his own way, making his mark on our lives with a bang.
Welcome to our big, beautiful world sweet little Skylar Lee Blue!!! We didn’t make it any further than 38 weeks, and you blessed us with extra days of snuggle and cuddle time! Every time I say your name I feel like my heart might burst. That tuft of silky dark hair and milky skin, the way I caress your forehead and lull you to sleep, those eyes that look for me when you hear my voice… you really are my bright Skye.
