Sometimes the independence Baby Blue is showing isn’t the most convenient. You know, those times where I’m running behind and can hear the clock ticking louder and louder as she puts her shoes on ‘all by herself.’ Most times, though, I’m extremely proud of her zeal for learning and zest for life. Here are a few items in our house that we all think are fabulous, and Baby Blue uses ‘all by herself.’

3. Bekvam Step Stool Ikea $19.99 (For my helper to help me at the kitchen counter… and used as a portible table when needed)
4. Sagan Hook Ikea $2.99 (A couple of these in the foyer make Aliyah’s coat hanging fun for her and a breeze for me, meaning I don’t have to do it)
5. Flipper Animal World Toothbrush Holder $8.14 (Easy to use and looks so cute)
6. Mommy’s Helper Cushie Traveler $10.99 (Perfect to help keep up that big girl diaper independence no matter where we go)

I love the list of favs. It is bitter sweet when our little ones start learning to do things on their own and need us less and less. I actually get a little teary-eyed thinking of how much Isaiah DOESN’t need me. I hear the phrase “mom, I can do it by MYself” far too often, but it’s a good thing.

When I watched Baby Blue the other day and we were getting ready for bed…I asked her where her toothbrush was. I couldn’t find it anywhere. She looked at me like I was so silly, and that I should have known exactly where it was. That little elephant is so cute I didn’t realize it had double purpose 🙂 but she educated me on the subject.haha
