Just as much as I enjoy swirling a steaming mug of spiced cider in my mug while the current cold-front in Florida makes the curtains dance in the cool morning breeze (if a 70 degree morning is considered a cold-front, and yes, Florida, you’re welcome… we brought the weather with us from Michigan, or at least that’s what I’ve been told), I love watching these two in their baths.
Sometimes it happens in the morning, after the previous long day’s escapades have us tucking in sand covered little babes that still smell like sunscreen and salt.
Sometimes it happens in the afternoon when splashing is a necessity for burning more energy and warm suds send little ones into a long nap.
Sometimes it happens in the evening, when the moon is just beginning to peek out from its hiding place through the dark of the night sky, and we splash in the cascades from the faucet and the comfort a foamy sea of bubbles brings.
I love watching them play.
I love seeing the tan lines of their naked little bums break the water line as they hold their breath and play dive into the soapy abyss.
I love pruney baby fingers and toes and the delicious scent of their baby soap… that I still use for the both of them.
And they love exploring our new tub, with it’s tiered surfaces and sliding doors so that in the words of my oldest “We can splash as much as we want!”
And then he’s done, climbs his way out and leaves big sister behind to have some time to herself for “grown up” conversation with her dolls.

The photos are delicious. The sentiments so well expressed….and my mama’s heart is thinking back to many such shared baths (older sis, younger brother) from years gone by…was just scrapping some of their bath pics this morning! It’s a wonder to watch their freindship grow!
