“A single event can awaken within us a stranger totally unknown to us. To live is to be slowly born.”
~Antoine de Saint-Exupery
Balance. It’s something I’m learning, though I feel like I’ve been in the school of learning when to say yes and when to say no for far too long. Busy to say the least and, at times, on the edge of tears while furiously swimming to catch up… and yet, loving it at the same time. Loving the person that I’m learning to be. The one who feels the rising ebb of goals and expectations and lets the stress of it all flow back out to the deep black of the sea. Though my mind’s been a bit of a stepping stone as of late, staging performances like forgetting to condition my hair in the shower (and for those of you with curly hair, you know that never happens), I can say that I’m completely happy and content wading here, doing what I’m doing.
Though I can tend to dive in, giving a million percent into one thing while letting other areas dry up, I’m learning. The biggest lesson of all has been from my littles. Their entrance into my world has brought out a new person in me, and as much good as I’d like to give to them, as much I’d like to teach them, they have taught me so much more. They are teaching me balance. That amidst the busy, when my heart can’t take any more aching to be with them, to cuddle them, to hold them, I steal away to give them my million percent.
They are teaching me what it is to be slowly born, for this balance thing isn’t the easiest thing to learn, but my crawling legs are gradually starting to strengthen into walking legs.
And now it’s time for me to go give my littlest babe my everything, and for now, there’s balance.

Learning is my favorite thing in life and it seems it is my grand children that teach the most.

Oh Tabitha… You are such a wonderful write. You really are. I hope you know that. You are also a wonderful parent. You really inspire me. Balance is something I believe everyone has a problem with, at least I know I do. Thanks for always sharing. Your children aren’t the only thing that are precious, YOU ARE TOO!!!!

Alysha
