“I wonder what it would be like to live in a world where it is always June?”
~L.M. Montgomery
We are quickly finding out what it is like to live with continual summer… at least for our first few months in our new home. I’m sure by next year we will be adjusting accordingly with the seasons, but after growing up in Michigan, the small, minute changes in temperature are what a normal week of summer would boast back home. I’m finding the shift into Fall to be quite the challenge and I know that next year, despite the fact that we’ll be more acclimated to the weather, I will have to be very deliberate about making the shift of seasons come alive with the spicy hues of fall and the warmth a good dose of Christmas decor brings in the winter. Yes, I’m already thinking about Christmas decor. Yes, I am that Holiday lovin’ freak and I’ll fly my flag high anytime. But also? I think I almost skipped over Fall, that perfect pumpkin lovin’ season because I was so late to the game.
I do however have good news to share… and Houston, we found THE Fall festival this weekend. A huge victory over last weekend’s search. I guess I wasn’t so late to the game after all. So though we’re living up the summer lifestyle by day, we’re in full on love affair with Fall by night… Cinnamon Spice candles singing it’s praise, pumpkins lined up in the entryway waiting to be carved, a few colorful crafts in the works and plans for a good neighborly booing to come this week.
What do you do to celebrate Fall?

I’m jealous …. being from outside Chicago we’re in the layers mode of Autumn though I don’t think it’ll hold out til Nov 1st. like I’m hoping lol.

I love your quote. We really didn’t have a summer here in the Northwest, so I wish it was just now June. But to get ready for fall I love to buy candles with spiced apple and pumpkin scents. It helps!

I would love to live somewhere that felt like Summer year-round. I love warm weather & hate Fall & Winter.
