“Only passions, great passions, can elevate the soul to great things” ~ Denis Diderot
I sit here in a fluffy cloud of white down, after having massaged my littles clean in sudsy water and sending them off to dreamland, only to slip into a tub full of sudsy water myself to wash the last bits of hay and dirt from the day away. ย My big beg welcomed me with cool, clean sheets and now my eyes are growing tired while I hear Heidi critiquing the designers’ plans and Tim chiming in with a heartfeltย it’s time to rally on the latest episode of Project Runway. And I just keep thinking about what I’m going to write into this blank space tonight, and I just keep thinking passions and rally.
Oh there is so much. So in order to keep this Sunday Citar post from becoming a book, I’m just gonna put it out there stream of conciousness style, so bear with me.
What’s amazing to me, is that even in just the simple daily tasks of making cornbread to go with the chili or washing a load of laundry we can find passion. Or perhaps taking on a corn maze with my little bean slung close to my chest because his feeding ran a little long in the car and the party had already set out. And instead of sitting there waiting, I decided to explore the stalks of corn that seemed to reach the skies armed with nothing more than a sling for my babe and my phone. And found in the journey and in the joy of achieving something so small yet accomplished together… there was passion.
My passions are realized in the little moments that have me gasping to catch my breath, like how my new little crawler makes his way across the kitchen floor and pulls on my pantleg and once I grab him up into my arms he wraps himself around me into one giant bear-hug. Or when my oldest little sets her favorite toy down to climb up on my lap to whisper that she loves me. Oh, it stretches my soul. And even in those times when something doesn’t go quite right, I can rally.
And right now it’s time for this post to wrap up because I’m being beckoned by my hungry little ‘cubby’ cheeks and I’m going to go love on him with every fiber of my being. Passion. My littles bring it out in me and it’s something fierce. And the whole elevating my soul to great things part? Yeah they’ve got that covered too.
We’ve got a new linky this week, and it looks like fun showing the thumbnails from your photos! Let me know what you think…

Love the quote! And you are so right, you really can find passion in even some of the most mundane tasks. Motherhood is one awesome passion!

Your photos are wonderful, but your words are what have triggered something in me this morning. Yesterda afternoon was one of those times when just I muddled through, just trying to stay sane until I could get to my bed; a little more passionate approach would’ve done me a lot of good. Thank you for this.
