“I’m not telling you it’s going to be easy – I’m telling you it’s going to be worth it.”

This view in our house is growing larger and larger, just as the time in the place we’ve called home is growing shorter and our walls are reverting to that empty, unclaimed state they once were.
We’re currently driving home on a dark stretch of road, two tired littles filling the backseat with their melodious sleeping breaths… One breathes in while the other breathes out. Chris’ finger is flipping through radio stations, getting a bit “old school” while Pandora gets pushed to the wayside on this commute. That scan through the stations may be what saves me from an occurrence of deja vu, since we’ve been making many late drives with sleeping babes lately. Our days are filled to the brim. Sweet moments stirred into the pot along with other things, that left to themselves might not taste so great, but mixed all in together it makes a warm and savory somethin’ good. So we’re crossing important things off the list just as much as an impromptu evening out with friends… Because how many times will we really get to do this in the next month?
It seems like we’ve been packing forever. And we kind of have been. With our lives unintentionally speeding up, instead of slowing and allowing time to sort, wrap and carefully place pieces of our lives into cardboard boxes. And so when we get a couple of hours at home, we add another case of memories to the pile. In the morning, in the evening, while someone is taking a nap and the other little someone is trying to pull items out of that big, brown square toybox. But eventually, our house is becoming a home of boxes.
The packing, the working, the thinking, the planning, the sorting, the cleaning, the last-minute visits with people we’ll miss… it may not be easy, but it’s going to be worth it.

Perfect quote! We moved cross country 3 months ago and my basement still looks like that, but wow “was it worth it”. We love where we are, now just hope to not move again for a few years…lol
