Yes, these are photos from last weekend. Oh wait, correction, these photos are from a few days before last weekend, because since I was actually out of town and away from these adorable littles on Easter (and still am, my how I miss their wiggly, warm bodies!) we decided to have a bit of fun before I left. So the big bunny, no relation or reference to our little bunny, stopped by early.
For the record, and just in case you couldn’t tell if you’ve been around here long enough, I love the fun of holidays, like Easter’s eggs and bunnies, fun prezzies of chocolate and peeps and there’s nothing like this holiday’s spring colors! The joys and the memory making for us are a way to celebrate the true reason… and because of the real meaning of Easter, because of the sacrifice of One, each and every one of us can wake up with a genuine spring in our steps because we get to enjoy a fresh start, a new beginning every morning!
And so we celebrated with toys for the family to enjoy together, like a game of what Brayden likes to call Hungry, Hungry, Hungry, Hungry Hippo. I think those hippos just might be a wee bit hungry, no?
And we took time to color our own eggs, using a white crayon first to add a few wacky patterns before dipping. And dipping again. And dipping into mixing and matching colors to see what came out.
(Tip, add a little bit of white vinegar to your food coloring and hot water to make the colors pop.)
So, I kind of like the “better late than never” phrase every once in awhile, but hopefully it will remain a never-overused sentence in our lives… I hope you all had an Easter filled with sweet and sticky memories, lots of laughs and love, time with those who matter most, and an egg or a bunny in there as well!
And since I couldn’t be with my sweet ones last Sunday, my phone was beeping with little clips of their Easter all day long. Maybe Brayden was just getting over being sick and was still tired, and maybe mama wasn’t there to “do” Aliyah’s hair… but I love them dearly, and my heart just jumps and swells every time I see their faces fill my phone screen. For now, I’ll stare at this moment in time for a little longer…
xoxo

It is all good!! It looks like you had yourselves a wonderful time, and that is what matters most. I bet your heart was a bit heavy, but with technology today, we can feel a bit closer even if we are not.
