I’m sharing my best beauty essentials for summer vacation in this post sponsored by Vocalpoint and P&G. All opinions are my own.
When it comes to summer and getting ready for vacation there are a few items in my medicine cabinet that I have found myself reaching for. For me it is important to come up with an edited and easy vacation routine that marries well with the crazy summer heat. I want to look nice, but I also want my skin to breathe and to not have to worry about my makeup running down my face.
To start things off we are going to hit on probably the most important part of prepping for bathing suits and jean shorts, and that is shaving. I don’t know about you, but I hate shaving, I know hate is a strong word and that you shouldn’t use it, but I seriously do not like shaving. If I could handle the pain and had the cash I would totally get all the hair removed on my body so I’d never have to shave again. But alas, that is not in the cards for me, so I’ve had to find the best alternative and that just happens to be Gillette’s Venus Spa Razor. Ok, so I know what you are thinking, a razor is a razor right, no in this case I have to say you are wrong. The beautiful thing about these razors is that they are perfect not only for your normal at home routine, but they are also amazing on the go. All you need is water! These razors have shaving gel bars built in that are infused with a fresh white tea scent that not only soothes as it shaves but smells lovely. This is something you can carry in your beach bag or have a spare in your glove compartment in your car, you know for those times when you were shaving in a hurry and you missed your ankle or behind your knee. We’ve all been there, it’s best to be prepared and these razors are perfect for the job.
Next, I want to talk about Olay Regenerist Micro Sculpting Cream with Broad Spectrum Sunscreen, this stuff is lightweight and incredibly hydrating. I like that when I’m rubbing it into my skin it almost immediately absorbs and doesn’t leave any stickiness behind. It also has a bonus, it is formulated with Amino-Peptides and Vitamin B3, this means that not only does it hydrate, but it lifts, plumps and firms your skin. All that and it’s SPF 30 protection, what else could you ask for.
I don’t know about you but throughout those winter months I turn a lovely ghost color, basically if I were to put on a bathing suit and go outside I’m pretty sure I’d scare people, so to combat that I have been using a self tanner. One good option is Jergens Natural Glow lotion. On my limbs, I’ve chosen Medium to Dark and on my face I’ve gone with Light. I chose Light for the face, because I find that your face is always a little lighter than your body and the two together has given me a much more natural looking tan. Plus, to add onto that my next go to item I want to share is a bronzer. Cover Girl has some really great, affordable options and another favorite of mine is Physicians Formula’s Butter Bronzer. Ladies, this stuff is amazing. Not only is it affordable, it smells like pina colada and it blends beautifully onto your skin. It has a nice light shimmer to it, just enough to make you look like you are glowing from the inside, no crazy glitter here. Using the sculpting cream, bronzer and the lotion together has been a match made in heaven for me.
We all want to look our best when we are on vacation, not only do you want to have that beautiful healthy glow, but because you are mostly going all natural, it is important to have a healthy looking smile. In today’s day and age we are taking pictures pretty much all of the time, I definitely think a little prep can go a long way to make all those vacation photos Instagram shareable. My go to is the Crest 3D White Luxe Glamorous Whitestrips and 1Hr Express pack. The thing that attracted me to these was that you get two options in one pack. There is the 14 treatment option and then there is also the last minute 1Hr option, getting both of these items for $30 is quite a steal in my book. I’ve used a number of different whiteners in my day and I always find myself going back to Crest. I love that I instantly see a difference and that my teeth and gums do not feel super sensitive after using them.
Last but not least, I think having well manicured nails and toes is an absolute must for any one prepping for vacation. There are so many amazing summery colors out there right now I don’t even know which one to choose to share. I personally usually go for either red or white. But no matter what brand or shade you choose, a little paint goes a long way in getting you ready for a summer vacation. I honestly believe that all of these products can give you a boost in your step and make you feel confident and ready for whatever adventures your next summer vacation has in store.
Now, I don’t want to spend all my time prepping and packing, so I like that in a single trip to Costco, I can cross everything off my shopping list – including my favorite beauty products. I can get a few things I need for the house and then browse the Health & Beauty Department to find a huge selection of shampoos, lotions and skin care products, all at a great value especially because most of these products are currently on sale. If you want to get all ready for summer, we’ve got some treats for you today!! Vocalpoint is pairing up with P&G and Costco to give away 25 Summer Beauty Boxes ($150)!! My Summer beauty tip is to stay in the shade, wear a hat to keep the sun off of your face and use Aloe vera for your dry skin. The sun and the pool can really dry out the skin in the Summer months.

My tip is make your own leave in hair conditioner! I use a small spray bottle and add 1 capfull of conditioner and 3 capfulls of water. I shake it up and spray it on my hair. My hair gets so dry from all the swimming in the summer, and this is so easy to do on vacation too with the sample bottles they leave!

Use coconut oil to help with dry skin and inflammation

Oh girl I’m with you… I’ve always got coconut oil in my bathroom, I love it!!!! Have you found a way to travel with it well though? That’s the one thing I haven’t figured out. I’ve used smaller containers, but it still leaks sometimes.
