In fact, you would think that all of this baby stuff would get easier. And it does…but despite the years of experience with our other children we still had concerns.
Sure, we knew what to expect, late-night feedings, diaper changes, and gas (oh, the dreaded gas bubbles!!). But no matter what number child I’ve been on I have always had that maternal worry while my baby was sleeping.
There are approximately 3,500 sleep-related deaths among U.S. infants each year. To even write it, it breaks my heart. One of my biggest fears as a mother is to have something happen to my child when I am not there.
For us, a smart baby monitor was important… especially a system that would work with us as we needed to monitor not just one, but TWO. Since having our twins, I’ve gone through a few monitor systems to find the right one for us and was determined to find the best baby monitor for twins as we begin to transition the twins out of our room and into their own cribs in their own room at night.
With that, let me tell you how the Cubo Ai Smart Baby Monitor eased those new mommy worries for me.

Other Baby Monitors Vs. The Cubo Ai Smart Baby Monitor
We’ve owned our share of baby monitors. From the Owlet Smart Sock (which we still have one, but haven’t used with the twins), the SmartBeat breathing tracker camera (couldn’t use with twins or with a swaddled baby) to other video baby monitors, this one has been our favorite so far, both in functionality, features and ease of use… so I wanted to share more about it with you!
It’s been absolutely the best baby monitor for twins as we’ve been able to seamlessly and easily add the TWO video baby monitors to our one app to track the twins. We can keep each camera focused on each twin, and while they’re still in the bassinet, we’ll be able to easily move them with each baby to their new crib (soon!!).
Our twins are six months old now, and so we’ve just moved the twin bassinet out of our room and into the room that will soon house their cribs.
The setup for not just one, but two, video smart baby monitors was an area that was difficult with other baby monitors we’ve tried, and this one seemed to basically “plug-and-play”.
There is currently a BIG Mother’s Day promotion on the Cubo Ai (through May 10th, 2020) and code CUBOTABITHA will allow an additional $5 discount, making the purchase price $184, the lowest price around (that’s a saving of $115)!

About the Cubo AI Smart Monitor
First, having twins is twice the work and twice the worry. But don’t forget, twice the love!
We have two little lives to take care of all while raising our other 4 children.
So, I was all about finding a really great smart baby monitor that could be with me wherever I went through the house or yard. After all, I have those four other children vying for my attention, but I almost always have my phone with me, so no matter where I am around our home or yard, I’m able to get alerts from our Cubo Ai Smart Monitor system.
I’m also pretty impressed with the way the Cubo Ai Baby Monitor looks. The sleek, white, minimalist bird is stylish yet playful, and I’m pretty discerning with our baby products for the twins. It even fit in with our master bedroom nursery nook, and will work well in their new room, too!
A pediatrician and an IVF mother (that found her baby with its face covered) designed the Cubo Ai. So, this amazing smart baby monitor has some features that give this momma real peace of mind.
Smart Baby Monitor Setup
First, I love the way the Cubo Ai camera can set up different ways. You can attach it to the crib or use a stand on the floor. It can even travel with you! Just pop it out of the stand and take it along.
This was way more convenient than other monitors that need to be propped up on a shelf or drilled into the wall only to still have a bad, angled view.
The birds-eye-view of the Cubo Ai Smart Baby Monitor makes it much easier to see your little’s face and determine how they are doing. And that brings me to the next feature I love SO much.
Covered Face & Rollover Alert
The covered face and rollover alert feature is what truly makes the Cubo Ai a “smart” baby monitor. The program can recognize when an item covers your baby’s nose or face. So, even if I have the sound off on the monitor I will still receive an alarm that one of the twins has rolled over.
This feature can give you a genuine sense of comfort. Especially when you never know if a well-meaning sibling may add a stuffed animal to the crib.
Of course, in the photo above, there are quite a few alerts because we were having some playtime in the bassinet. If you’re wondering about the alerts, you can customize the settings for your baby as well. Set for only covered face alerts if your little one likes to roll and you don’t want to be notified. You have the option to set the cry detection sensitivity to low, medium, or high (so if you’ve got a talker, you won’t have an alert each time they make a peep). And especially helpful when we’ve had the twins in a shared bassinet, with the crib detection zone setting, we can map out exactly where Quinn and Lennon each sleep so that the monitor only tracks that specific area, and you can set the detection zone to your baby’s crib or other areas.
Automatic Photo Capture Smart Baby Monitor
Okay, this is not a requirement I would usually have for a baby monitor, but this is so cool. In addition to the 18 hours of video storage/playback, the 1080p HD camera will automatically take pictures when your baby is smiling, crying, or making a big motion.
That means it will capture special moments without you even having to lift a finger. And these smiles, head raises, and funny faces all get captured onto the Cubo Ai Baby Monitor’s In-App Memory Wall.
Danger Zone Alert
As your baby grows so does the Cubo Ai’s usefulness. The smart baby monitor has a great feature called the Danger Zone Alert. The feature can alert you if your little toddler begins to crawl out of his crib.
This alone is a great feature, but Cubo Ai does one even better.
When your littles are on the move you can reset the Cubo Ai to view horizontally into a room and draw out a “danger zone” on the app. If your child steps into this zone you will receive a smart monitor alert on your phone. This is perfect for kitchen entryways, patio doors, and pool access.
This feature extends the life of the smart baby monitor and makes your investment in the Cubo Ai worth every penny.
Other Cubo Ai Features
There are more Cubo Ai Smart Baby Monitor features than I have mentioned above, but those are my favorites. The Cubo Ai has 2-way audio, no visible red light for night vision, and a built-in night light.
Another feature I like quite a bit is the temperature and humidity detection. This is a really great feature living in the south as we try to balance between using air-conditioning and not. It helps us gauge if the babies will be able to sleep comfortably in their room without ever disturbing them.
Cubo Ai Smart Baby Monitor Review
I’ve told you the numerous pros of the Cubo Ai, but if I had to find a con it would be the risk of having the WiFi drop out whether from a bad connection or power outage. But that is a rare problem. If you’re worried about your WiFi connection – WiFi extenders can really help strengthen the signal around the house!
Otherwise using the Cubo Ai Smart Baby Monitor has been a really great experience and I recommend it to my own family and friends.
I hope this Cubo Ai Review has helped you, too. I know I wanted the best baby monitor for twins, but any momma can appreciate the long list of safety features of the Cubo Ai. If you are thinking about your child’s safety you may also enjoy this post on Car Seat Safety Tips.

Awe!!!! SO EXCITED FOR YOU!!!

Hi Tabitha, thanks for the review! Did you have to have 2 cameras to monitor the twins in the bassinet? Or can the one camera give you alerts for each twin separately?
Tabitha Blue says
Hi Dima!
When they started out in the bassinet, I used one camera. I had it set up to give alerts, but not for separate alerts specific to each twin. As they got bigger though, we added the second camera and now in their own cribs, they each have a camera.
With this current setup, it gives me separate alerts, sleep analytics and more for each twin.

Omg it’s so cute! The design is perfect, I’m totally buying it if it’s working! I’m going to sleep train my son some time soon. We’re dropping the swaddle now and are going to follow HWL method from http://www.parental-love.com and transition him to the separate room. Although I’d like to have a monitor while doing it… So thanks a lot for the recommendation, it’s one of the tops so far!

Hi Tabitha,
Thanks very much for this review, you mentioned having your phone with you around the house and relying on the alerts, is it possible to see or hear both cameras simultaneously? The Cubo website seems to show you having to toggle between the video feeds but doesn’t mention if both camera audios play simultaneously and what happens if you enable background audio?
Thanks, Luke
