Well, it was really more like brunch, blueberries, and freshly baked croissants, but that didn’t sound the same as a title. And, don’t shoot me, they aren’t homemade croissants, but I did just get off a plane about 5 hours earlier… so don’t hate.
The Blueberry Jam was homemade, however. Remember our very blueberry day? All that picking and poking in those blueberry bushes did not go to waste. I made jam and it’s WONDERFULLY YUMMY. The blueberries are so sweet, I was able to cut the sugar in the recipe to about 1/4, so it’s also pretty healthy! Yay, extra points for me!
I arrived at Detroit Metro airport at about 1am… waited and waited and waited for my luggage… arrived home at about 3am, and went to bed. Baby Blue woke me up at about 7am, but I didn’t mind. My eyes did, they didn’t want to open, in fact, I had to stumble my way to the kitchen and dig out toothpicks and shove them into my eyes just to hold them open, but I didn’t mind one bit. When we got hungry enough, we decided to make some croissants and take our jam outdoors for a sunny brunch, and oh was it good. The warm sun on our faces, the fresh air, the sweet food and milk to wash it all down. A great way to catch up after being away from my family for 4 days! That is, of course, if you can get past the toothpicks…
