What makes this a kid-friendly beach
Tradewinds is probably one of our favorite beaches to take our kids to (when we want an active beach day!) because it is so convenient and easy to get to, and is basically one giant beach playground!
A 40-acre beachfront playground where you can soar over the sand via zip line. Kick back in a floating cabana. Master a stand-up paddleboard. Party with a pirate. Play on an inflateable offshore water park or enjoy the three-story slide. Feast on the freshest Florida seafood under a 33,500-gallon aquarium (burgers and mac + cheese are top-notch). Kids will never be bored with KONK (Kids Only No Kidding) camps, crafts and family activities. Or relax by one of nine pools, indulge in a massage or escape to a beachside hammock.

Tips on spending a night or weekend away with the fam
When planning a vacation with children, it’s important to keep a few things in mind. Planning ahead of time is key when it comes to vacations, especially when traveling with young children who are typically more energetic and unpredictable (and impatient). So before you jet off on your next adventure with your little ones, make sure you have some essentials at hand
- Think about the trip you and your family want (adventurous, relaxing, mountains, beach for kids, etc.)
- Make a plan of action, but be flexible.
- Set a budget. Finances can be a big stressor, set a budget, save for it, and stick to it.
- Be strategic with booking your hotel and activities in advance (or book last-minute – sometimes you can get good last-minute deals but it is a gamble.)
- Research the area for free things to do or local events that might be going on.
- Pack smart – be strategic by packing outfits together it will help your kids get ready independently.
- Unplug for the weekend – take a digital detox, disconnect from work and reconnect with those you love.
