Today marks the five-year anniversary of the day Chris and I drained our parents bank accounts, got sick and entered into wedded bliss.  It couldn’t have been better, really.

Upon the return from our honeymoon, and the night before we were going to see all of our friends and family again, we got ourselves into quite an exorbitant pillow fight which ended with Chris sporting an obnoxious black eye for about a week.  Concealer didn’t work. I tried.  He still loved me.

When we made it to almost a month of marriage, we thought it would be fun to host a dinner party and invite our friends over.  I planned a full menu of Fiesta Lime Chicken, Spanish Rice, and Fried Plantains.  Everything was running smooth until Chris decided to head upstairs to take a shower and I thought it was a perfect time to make the Fried Plantains.  After a fire erupted in our kitchen, I ended up in the bathroom calmly telling him that the kitchen was on fire and proceeded to call the Fire Department.  He ran down the stairs grabbing a towel on his way.  After a few minutes, my hero put the fire out, using his towel in the process.  So, there he stands, naked, in our kitchen as I let him know he may want to put some pants on since we’ll be having some Firemen over for dinner as well.  He still loved me.

On our one-month anniversary, he graced me with a fire-extinguisher.  I still loved him.

Many adventures and a few years later, we’re more in love than we’ve ever been.  

Because we’re in such wedded bliss, I want to share a few of my favorite Bliss products with you… like the slightly fun and flirty scented blood orange + white pepper body butter.  Every time I use it, Aliyah is constantly smelling me, saying, “Mommy, you smell goods.”  If my two-year-old likes it, I think you will too.

I randomly picked up a few of their products here and there, and then, last year when we were in San Francisco, the hotel stocked our room with all things Bliss.  It was divine.

    The photos are really cute!
    I too set my kitchen on fire during an ill fated attempt at cooking something new. Luckily my big hero sister was on hand to put it out for me. She also put all the elbow work into cleaning up the 1/4 gallon or so of cooking oil all over the stove and floor. lol
    The Bliss does sound like bliss!
