As we head into the season of pumpkins and sweaters, hay rides, apple picking and hot spiced cider, it seems like we always tend to take inventory of what’s in our closets… mainly because it’s time to pull out those sweaters and see what still fits, and well, it’s always fun to change up the wardrobe. For us now that we live in Florida, our “fall” season looks a little different than it used to. In fact, I wore a long sleeve shirt this morning with a pair of skinny jeans and just about sweat myself down five pounds. In retrospect, maybe that’s not such a bad thing after all… but for my wardrobe’s sake and the fun of switching out summer duds for the warm textures of fall’s normal uniform, not so much.
When I was contacted by Janie and Jack recently to shop their site and style a few of their pieces for my boys, I was excited to play along… and it seems my kids are always up for a little photoshoot when new clothes are involved! And tt’s the perfect time for us all to infuse a few new threads into our current collections and update the good ole’ wardrobe.
Because of our warm weather here, I kept my purchases to shorts and polos, and I absolutely love the quality of these duds. And also, how cute are these elephant embroidered shorts on Skylar?!
Besides clothing, Janie and Jack offers a great selection of accessories, and even though they didn’t ask me too, I couldn’t help but browse through them and picked up these adorable sunnies and shoes for Skye as well. At least the sunnies he can wear for a long while… though I fear he’s already beginning to grow out of the shoes.
For the boys’ outfits, Brayden’s polo and shorts are from Janie and Jack’s summer collection (currently on sale!), while the belt, sandals and sunglasses are from our own closet. For Skylar, the shorts, sunnies and shoes are from Janie and Jack, while that cute hat is a Gap hand-me-down from Brayden and the striped onesie is culled from our drawer.
It really only takes a few pieces to spice up your wardrobe, the key is to find items that you like that you’ll be able to mix and match with items from your closet. Keep that in mind the next time you do a closet purging or head to the mall… What colors work with your wardrobe? What few fall items can you get that will update your closet and work with what you have; a new pair of skinny jeans or a great scarf, perhaps?
^ These coral shorts are SO cute, but the little guy has some growing to do before he really fits in them.
A few of my favorite fall picks that would be a great addition to any little ones collection, not shown here in this post because it’s just too hot for us to wear them yet, would be the fleece pullover, polo shirt and striped tie for boys and the ponte jodhpur pants, stretch corduroy pant, equestrian blouse and leather riding boots for girls.
What are you looking forward to wearing this fall?
I’ll start… I’m looking forward to lightweight scarves, boots and I want to find the perfect chunky knit sweater (that doesn’t add too much bulk, this mama doesn’t need bulk right now, haha).
Post Sponsored by Janie and Jack. All opinions about the clothing are my own. It was a pleasure working with such a great company, thanks Janie and Jack! Stay up to date with Janie and Jack’s newest products, special sales and great giveaways by following them on Facebook and Twitter!
