Last week when it was time to record the latest episode of KitchenWise, I just wasn’t feeling it. The entire day I’d just felt a bit off. I was tired, pushing a headache to the side and still hadn’t brushed my hair or dabbed on makeup from a day of cleaning and errand running when evening began to fall.
Aliyah knew it too, and didn’t want the day to end without making our hearts. So she stepped up to bat, “Mom, I can do it. Just let me do it.” And I have to say, baby girl it a home-freaking-run. She knocked it out of the park.
This is such a fun and delicious kid-friendly recipe to make, as you can see. We just made a batch of rice crispy treats according to the box directions (1 bag of mini marshmallows, thank-you-very-much), and for the chocolate, we used one bag of chocolate chips and 1/2 cup heavy cream which we warmed in the microwave and poured over the chips to melt. Perfect for Valentine’s Day coming up in T-minus 7 days!! Yes, I am counting.
As all good mamas do, I started out with some sideline coaching, but girls’ got skills, and didn’t need much help at all.
Chocolate Dipped Rice Crispy Hearts… so much fun to make, but I think they may have been even more fun to eat.
Happy Tuesday!
