I’ve been enjoying the first ever Lakeland Fashion Week, made up of some emerging underground designers from the area, and you’re going to hear more on all of the happenings this week soon, including finding some really good cold brewed coffee beforehand… gotta get caffeinated before the shows right?! So while being a part of something so new and exciting, it’s been a treat to be among the first to try a makeup brand that just recently became available to the US (and you can try it too with a giveaway and coupon code at the end of this post)!
This is a sponsored giveaway with She Speaks / UNT
is a skincare and cosmetic company that was founded in Taiwan on the basis that all people deserve healthy skin at an affordable price (I’m a fan of both!). Now, UNT (an abbreviation of “Untitled” because beauty cannot be represented by one title) is the new beauty brand in town, and is bringing their effective, innovative and affordable products to the US.
I have to say, I’ve been quite smitten with them so far, at least with the products that I’ve tried. The brand actually focuses on producing products that are of small molecular weight, easily absorbed, light, low-oil based content with high concentrations of active ingredients… basically lightweight formulations that can still deliver heavyweight results. I’ll show you the four products I’ve been trying this week that fall into that double-duty category.
Check out these easy tips to achieve the look of natural makeup for fall and what I’ve been wearing for #LakelandFashionWeek below!
Mineraluxe BB Cream SPF30 (in Natural) – This BB cream is a lightweight, mineral-based cream suitable for all skin types including damaged and acne-prone skin. The overall look was surprisingly full coverage while still giving the more natural BB cream look, while also leaving the skin feeling soft. The secret to the coverage, without clogging pores (important!), is a breathable feature from a super-fine clay mineral called Illite. Unlike the many foundations that fill in the pores to cover blemishes, illite bridges the pores to create a thin veil, which can also absorb excess sebum. This is what I’ve been wearing this week to replace my foundation, I just use one pump and dab around my face, then use a foundation brush to blend in. (Tip: top with CC cream below for highlights.)
Naked Truth CC Cream – This ultra-sheer, nearly invisible CC Cream is for those who really want a healthy, “barely there” look with just the right amount of coverage to cover redness but still let your natural skin breathe. It comes out white and looks and feels more like a moisturizer, but of course, as you blend over your skin the color capsules burst to adapt to the skin’s natural color, giving just a little coverage and color corrected skin. Definitely great for those needing a higher moisturizing content throughout the cooler months as well.
Eye Define Liquid Eyeliner – Overall, I’m very impressed with this carbon black, waterproof liquid eyeliner. Once it dries, it leaves a bit of a satin finish, so not a pure matte eyeliner, though the 24 hour staying power is no joke. While it wipes off fairly easily with makeup removing wipes at the end of the day (because we all remove our makeup at the end of the day, right?! SO important.), it doesn’t budge until you make it happen. The flexible fiber tip was easy for me to use for a sleek line and with a little pressure it can create a nice, bold line. I’ve been using it this week for a slight cat eye along with defined brows and a little eye-lid primer. Then I decide between bold lips or added eyeshadow to create a smokey eyed look, for an everyday look, I’d leave as-is.
Brow Master Dual-Ended Brow Pencil – Sculpted brows are in, and that’s a fact I’ve been so happy about lately! I’ve never been one for super thin or barely there brows. No matter what you have to start with though, this brow pencil could become your best friend. On one end you’ll find the usual, a full spoolie brush to blendout the color and soften harsh lines, but on the other end I was surprised. It boasts an ultra-fine retractable triangle tip pencil, and all week long I’ve ditched my eyebrow brush and gel for this pencil because the precision is great on it, but also it’s just SO easy to use. Another plus, once applied it had serious staying power.
