I’m getting ready for New Year’s Eve with #KissedbyCOVERGIRL and Rent the Runway, keep reading for a chance to win! This post/giveaway is sponsored by SheSpeaks/P&G.
When it comes to New Years Eve, I definitely know who I’m going to kiss at the stroke of midnight, but getting dressed for the occasion is a different story. I have to say that our New Year’s Eve parties look quite a bit different now with three kids (and to be completely honest, the option of watching the ball drop from bed is never off the table). We usually host a party at our home and ring in the new year surrounded with friends and family… keeping what’s important close to us! This year, whether you’re headed out on the town or you’re couch bound with good food and good friends, make the night festive with sparkle in all the right places! I think it’s pretty safe to say that I’ll be toasting in sequins. Thankfully, they’re in style and totally trending right now.

Let’s start with a glam night out. While purchasing a dress made of sequins isn’t out of the question, there’s a completely legit alternative… rent it! With Rent the Runway, you can find some glamorous, high-end, designer duds (like this sequin dress shown above) and instead of dropping $400 to purchase a dress that you know you won’t be able to wear often, spend $50 to rent it (plus you’ll get $25 off your first rental and I’m giving away a $50 gift card, so keep reading!). Plus, hello amazing photos! Pair with some black opaque tights and pumps to stay stylish yet warm, a colorful clutch and a gorgeous pair of earrings (accessories shown are for rent as well!).
Of course, top off the look with a great red lip! I’ve been trying the new COVERGIRL Colorlicious Lipstick that’s infused with shea butter, and the texture is absolutely creamy with great, wearable color. Available in four different color families, smooth nudes, rich reds, yummy plums, and luscious pinks, you could choose from the resulting 36 shades at your nearest Walmart. With this look, I’d definitely rock one from the red family, like Garnet Flame as shown.

For a more casual affair, you can still rock the sequin trend and sparkle as the ball drops, but keeping it comfy is key. Opt for a great pair of sequin leggings, still comfortable and yet totally glam. A cute tee and flats finish off the look and keeps the outfit a little more on the casual side. Here you can play with some great accessories… and since we found such a great deal on the clothes, you can rent some high end jewelry and a clutch from Rent the Runway without shelling out too much dough. For this look, I’d pair a COVERGIRL Colorlicious Lipstick from the plum family, like Ravish Raspberry shown here, to pull it all together.
What do you think? Would you wear either of these looks?
Of course, sequins might not be for everyone, although it’s totally on my bucket list, and that’s okay because there are all kinds of looks to choose from! Head to Rent the Runway to check out the major selection of designer wear, and check out your local Walmart for everyday low prices on COVERGIRL Colorlicious Lipstick (there’s a larger selection of colors in-store than online).
Don’t leave yet! Enter below to win your own COVERGIRL Colorlicious Lipstick and a $50 gift card to Rent the Runway to put together your own NYE look (or to use whenever you please).

I don’t know if I would ever wear a sequin dress or sequin leggings, but goodness it does sound like fun! I would, however, tote about that colorful clutch!

Isn’t that clutch gorgeous!! I’m not a “normal” sequin wearer, but I’ve been wanting to try the trend and New Year’s Eve is a good reason! 🙂
