Do you recall the days of field trips, show and tell, and sometimes that special guest showing up at school? Those were the times. I still love them! That feeling of excitement, something new in the air. I chance to get away from all of the same, and a moment to experience something new. Yes, I love those moments.

oh my goodness! They are sooo cute!! I remember field trips *sigh* I loved them!
we had out fire dept come out and do a fire simulator and we all had to be in the “house” 3 at a time and figure out the right things to do…it was scary as crap, but at least i always remembered what to do!

I love the facination that kids have with firemen and fire trucks. Our local fire station is a couple blocks from my house and I live by a couple churches that provide daycare and I can always tell when it’s ‘visit the fire station day’ cuz they are all walking hand and hand with red firemen hats on!!

I remember hearing that a lot of kids get themselves into greater danger because they are too afraid of firemen to listen to them in an emergency. I hadn’t ever thought about that, but it makes sense. Here is a generally big person in a bright, glow-y outfit with no skin showing and a helmet! Pretty scary. I’m glad the firefighters are so willing to avail themselves to children to help keep them safe. By the way, that final picture you took fascinates me. I’m no photographer, but I think it is the way you captured the color contrast and the slight dampness on the tire. Very interesting… (going back to stare at photo)

I must admit, I know all about the “burning down of the kitchen story” and yes…..it still makes me laugh (especially the Chris in the towel part). And I remember the aftermatch that was your kitchen afterwards. Good times!
