Music moves me. I blast an upbeat, happy tune to bust out some cleaning, a bit of Natasha Bedingfield always makes a photo shoot lighter, the J-Lo/ Pitbull mix pushes a workout and “You Are So Beautiful” tops the list for the kid’s bedtime lullaby. But what’s more exciting now is seeing how music moves my little one. Any kind. Anywhere.
Hands go flailing, lips turn upward, legs start a kickin’ and a laugh is most certainly to follow. It’s one of my favorite parts of watching growth… watching how they develop their own likes and dislikes, humor and style and children’s affinities for good beats and soft smiles at smooth melodies.
It’s getting close to nap time, so I’m going to go get my Joe Cocker on, with a few of my own lyrics like “God gave you just to me,” thrown in the mix while I enjoy his seventeen month old squishy rolls, blue eyes and wispy hair.

I’m completely enamored with these snuggly alligator green crochet boots…
Complete with scales. Perfect for a cool night this winter in our new Florida home, don’t ya think?
I found them at this shop, full of more cutesy and cushy crocheted items! One commenter on this post will receive a crochet pattern to make your own comfy boots (a beginner level pattern)! If you’re like me, and only wish you could crochet, you’ll probably fall in love and want to order a completed pair anyway, which is what I did… or find someone in your family that can do it for you!
Happy Monday friends, let’s make it a good one!

I would love the pattern! And Tab you could totally crochet. I taught myself watching YouTube videos! Buy a hook and a skein of yarn and watch a “how to crochet” video. It is much easier then you think. Usually I don’t even bother with patterns I just try stuff.

This is something I will pass on to Grandma Ruby. She’s been itching to make something for Cole and hasn’t picked up a crochet hook in years. Maybe this would be just the thing to get her started again. They are adorable.

Those boots are so adorable just like him! I love that website, I think I might make a purchase for myself! Their slipper boots are super cute and look so comfy! Their hats and bracelets are really cute too!

Girl those boots are to DIE FOR!! I loved them even before you turned them around and showed off the scales – ADORABLE!
I’m with you on the music…for us it is more Sugarland (the Christmas CD when we’re getting tired of the heat and dreaming of cooler temps) and Miranda Lambert (when we want to rock out a bit)…I always give myself deadlines based on cds…I pop one in and paint as long as it is on…when it stops, I can stop if I want to…fabulous motivation…if only it worked on the treadmill for me…
