Happy Thanksgiving from our family to you and yours! Though ours looks a little different this time around, as there are 3000 miles of mountains, valleys, streams and roads separating us. Chris has the older two kiddos and is celebrating with our families, bouncing from house to house and hospital bed. I have to say, with a scare from his dad and subsequent ICU stay, it made it crystal clear what’s important in life. While there will always be issues and deadlines, squabbles and schedules… it all seems to fade into the background when something happens that brings family back to center stage. It makes me wonder sometimes why it takes an occurrence to remind us what truly matters and where our priorities lay, but such is life where we tend to busy ourselves with the business of life instead of the joy-filled meaning of life. This thanksgiving, while I celebrate over a hotel room breakfast, Macy’s day parade on the TV with my baby boy and mom in LA and face time with family traipsing through snow flurries in Michigan, I’m so grateful for all that we’re blessed to enjoy together. So no matter where you find yourself today, let’s celebrate life and family, whether they’re near or far, around the table or in a hospital bed, serving our country from abroad or sleeping under the same roof. Happy Thanksgiving.
