Christmas essential oil recipes can lift your mood and truly clear the air. They are perfect for lingering food smells and negativity alike. And during the somewhat stressful Christmas season, we can all use something to make our spirits bright.
Studies have shown that aromatherapy has the potential to be an effective remedy to relieve depression symptoms for many people. Aromatherapy massage enhances the therapeutic benefit.
We aren’t always lucky enough to get a massage, but most of us can diffuse the delicious scents of Christmas essential oil recipes to lift our mood.
In a previous post, I mentioned how Christmas essential oil recipes have a positive associative recall. Which means, a particular scent from our past can bring us positive feelings.
This is another mood-lifting benefit.

How to Use Christmas Essential Oil Recipes
Diffuse
My favorite way to infuse our home with the healthy scents of Christmas is to use these Christmas Essential Oil Recipes in the diffuser! That is how each recipe below is written and will show you how many drops we use for a 150ml diffuser, feel free to add or adjust as necessary.
By diffusing with a cool mist or ultrasonic diffuser, it disperses micro-particles oil and water into the air. You’ll benefit from the aromatherapy of the oils, and the ionizing and humidifying effect of the water vapor. And no heating or burning means the properties of the oils are not broken down.
Isn’t this the cutest diffuser?! while it’s in stock!
Topically
You can also use these Christmas essential oil recipes topically as long as you’re taking proper precautions for your skin and mixing with a carrier oil, like sweet almond oil or coconut oil. Some of the below recipes would make amazing massage or post-shower body oils!
Room Spray
If you don’t have a diffuser (maybe something to add to your Christmas wish list?!!!), you could make a room spray or linen spray by adding water and oils into a spray bottle.

After the holiday hub-bub and before the kids head back to school, tensions can run high. Everyone has been cooped up indoors, in each other’s spaces and faces.
