Back to School Outfits for Kids:
Can you even handle this little surfer-boy cuteness? He’s got a laid back style of his own and I happen to love it.
So, you guys, today is the day! It’s a big day in our home as school officially begins the day after Labor Day, and between finishing our school room, ordering curriculum and stocking our shelves (and our walls with new art from our shop)… we are excited!!
What I can’t believe though is how much my little ones have grown and changed since we’ve moved to Florida. I mean… this guy here was just ONE and now we’ve got two more who have passed through those stages. It’s like this time of year helps me to take stock, to look back at how they’ve grown over the years and savor each of those sweet stages (that always felt like they’d last forever in the moment and now feel like they’ve sped by!).
So even though we’re schooling at home, it stills feels like the fresh new season that it is… especially when new clothes are involved.
That was always my favorite part (the new back to school outfits AND the fresh new school supplies), so it doesn’t surprise me how much my kiddos enjoy new clothes. Be it for school, a trip, an event – whatever the reason – they get SO excited. I can’t blame them, I totally get that feeling of gratitude over a crisp new shirt, graphic tee or the scent of never-worn shoes.
I like to take some time with each of them before the school season begins to shop for items they love that reflect their own style and personality… and it’s a great way to get in those few sacred moments of conversation about life, dreams and goals.
For Brayden this year, we did his back to school outfits shopping online. We sat down together at home and did everything online with OshKosh B’gosh. It was so easy and simple, I let him pick out the clothes he loved and he got so excited over the selection of graphic tees! Now, when he get’s dressed, the items that he chose are his first pulls from his wardrobe… and fellow parents, that is a BIG help in getting ready in the mornings. Having clothing that kids are excited to put on takes the hassle out of getting dressed!
And also, how cute is this Varsity Jacket on him?!!
I would love to hear what traditions you have with your kids while getting them Back to School. Do you take them on a little coffee date, too? Do you let them pick out clothes or maybe their own backpack? We’re all navigating these waters together, and I feel like sharing can help all of us mamas have new ideas or fresh ways to build tradition and memories with our families.
Another thing that I loved about our order from OshKosk? The jeans! With the adjustable waistband, we can actually keep his jeans up on his small waist and long legs. He loves how comfortable they are, and I’m happy we’ve found some that we both like!
Plus, you know I LOVE it when a company gives bask!! In 2014, OshKosk launched The B’gosh Jeanius Campaign as an annual effort to support local communities with donated clothing and school supplies. Now, they’ve partnered with DonorsChoose.org, Delivering Good, OshKosh Moms, families and friends to collect over $1.5 million and distribute more than 110,000 articles of clothing to impact the lives of over 300,000 students.
We can all help by donating a new pair of jeans in-store or making a cash contribution in-store or online until September 12th.
I snagged this coupon code (Retail Code: 037958 Online Code: OKBG3478) to save and he was so excited that we could add another item to our cart… specifically, pajamas. Side note: since we were shopping for back to school outfits, we were specifically looking for school clothes; though he was negotiating hard for pajamas saying that it technically could be school clothing since we’re homeschooling. Thanks to the coupon code, and his big eyes and sly smile, we added some glow in the dark Beyond Tired cotton pjs to the cart.
