Christmas Cookie Traditions

I’m trying to be more and more intentional about the traditions we create for our family. Taking in what’s important to us and what makes our holiday moments special… like time together and cookies. Recently while I was home for a quick two day turnaround between trips, I made good on a promise. It was cookie time! With little helping hands in the kitchen we poured, mixed, rolled and frosted. The cookies were seriously delicious (this chocolate chip cookie recipe), and so were the wee ones helping to make them. Of course, what better way to indulge in those cookies and mugs of milk than an afternoon spent enjoying one of their favorite things, a picnic.

Do you know what else they really liked? Getting all dressed up for our own One Big Happy moment from Gymboree. Brayden and his tie, Skylar and his sweater… even Aliyah and her hair clip, it was all about the details for them! I live for these happy moments with them, my heartbeats, and I’m happy to be sharing these moments with you today. I also can’t wait to make it home to my family today… time for tree decorations and our Advent calendar.
