So there is this discovery that occurred that is totally worth sharing. You know how you have that favorite lip gloss of yours? Or in my case it’s basically ALL of my NYX Butter Glosses, because they are just the best… and cheap too (sometimes $3 with a coupon!). Well, back to the point, you can make any lipgloss you have a lip plumper at the same time!
Are you ready for this?
It’s simple, it’s easy, and yes maybe a little vain too. But an inexpensive and easy way to plump up your lips… and freshen at the same time?! I’m totally okay with that!
Just add a couple drops of Peppermint essential oil to your lipgloss. Peppermint naturally increases blood circulation, in fact, studies have shown that as soon as the essential oil vapor touches the end of your olfactory nerve endings, there is an almost instant increase in pulse rate and blood circulation. How does this effect your lips, well in the same way that a more expensive lip plumping gloss would. Have you ever tried an over the counter version and you could actually feel your lips pulsing? It’s the same reaction. Most over the counter lip plumpers use capsaicin (from the red pepper plant), or other volumizing ingredients like cinnamon, wintergreen, menthol or caffeine. The good news is, you don’t have to spend the high price ticket of these plumpers and can use the glosses you already have at home. Or you can go with an even more natural alternative, and use jojoba oil in a rollerball and add in your drops of peppermint (or cinnamon) oil!
