You must try this as soon as humanly possible.
It’s saved my eyes from a hoarded mess of photos, files, folders and anything else I had seeping into my desktop space. Because on any normal day full of save this here and put that there, open this now and finish that later? My desktop runneth over.
So, a couple of months ago a saw a tip (and I apologize because I can’t remember where, so if you know, please let me know so that I can link back to it) on how to keep the clutter from taking over. It was easy!
I just divided my desktop into quadrants. And this is where I added my own flair from the original… because I’m a fan of flair, and doing things differently. I’m a rebel. A flair rebel.
I’m sorry.
Back to topic. I opened the photo I wanted to use in my photo editing software, I used Photoshop, and created four squares over the top of my photo layer. I made the top 2 squares black and the bottom 2 white, just to differentiate, and then lowered the opacity to my liking. Next, it was just naming each quadrant for organization purposes.
Though I can still tend to get in a hurry and leave a bunch of unfinished projects laying around, at least everything has it’s place and when I use that place, my desktop, and consequently, my mind are a little more put together.
So really, I insist. You must try this soon.

That is a really good idea! My problem is not leaving things on the desktop but leaving programs and internet pages open. It’s as if saving them will mean I forget about them…

Great idea. I share my laptop with my husband. He would probably freak out. So I will do it immediately.
