It is well into his Fourteenth month, and it seems as though I can’t keep up with this shedding of babyhood that he’s into. I just want to pluck a megaphone out of my back pocket and yell SLOOOOOOW DOOOOWN, and perhaps he would get the point then. And really, the shouting into the megaphone thing? It would be meant for me just as much as it would be for him. Because when I slow down enough to hold on and rock him just a little longer, to tickle and cuddle just a bit more, to take longer strolls through the neighborhood that put him to sleep, I get to tweet things like this, and know that my cuddle baby is still there. He’ll always be there. But now, that babyhood is just sometimes masked by all the words that fly out of his mouth on a daily basis, by the fact that he now runs and plays hard-to-get, by the fact that his innate desire to explore is blossoming into something magical and his just-over-one-year old self is showing slivers of what his personality truly is.
So, for now, I’ll keep any megaphones tucked away, and just enjoy the glimpses of his sweet babyhood every chance I get.

The winner of Sunday’s $20 Sephora gift card is Ashlee:
I linked up with today’s Sunday Citar …who also said in another comment:
For Mother’s Day We all painted my Mom a bird House for her back yard. We’re going to Celebrate with Dinner and then help her in the Garden.
Thanks to everyone for sharing your Mother’s Day plans, it was such fun reading what you all were up to. Congratulations Ashlee, email me at [email protected] to claim your gift!

Seriously, Brayden needs to stop growing up. it’s seems to be going by faster than when Aliyah was little.
Congrats Ashlee on winning the gift card!!! You deserve it.

SLOW DOWN… if they had a mommy mega phone that worked I would so by buying one too.
Hooray Ashlee!

Such a sweet notion… to keep finding glmpses of his baby hood that peep through this new stage. I remember not wanting to loose my playful little boy ~ and even as his gangly adolesence took over, the rock climbing, lizard chasing, leggo building boy showed up every now and then! It’s great to bear witness to these transformations!
