This week Fresh Mommy went back home to DETROIT with our littlest in tow. After some long delays and early work morning she is snuggled asleep in her nice and comfortable HOTEL bed. 🙂 So I wanted to share my view of the world for a change.
Recently we went to the mall to shop with our Christmas gift cards. We enjoyed a 20 minute, wonderful adventure of giving chase to my 22 month old and 5 yr old daughter all around Sephora, where my son was overwhelmed with joy at all the little bottles and jars right at his level. My daughter had to try each of the perfumes in the women’s section. Then both proceeded to climb into the facial chairs and under all the tables. After finally wrangling the children and purchasing our said items we try to escape without any incident. We mistakenly chose a path through a store which had another Sephora counter. The products, like the sound of some Pied Piper flute invoking a trance like state of mind, intrigued Fresh Mommy and she was whisked away to the counter. This induced the curiosity in my children as they began to look for something fun to do while they waited. They spotted the escalator. My son excitedly pointing to the moving stairway toward heaven caused me to surrender my own desires. We began the seemingly endless cycle of up and down requests from then on. At least the skyward view was softened by paper butterflies.
After a mere 35 minutes in the mall we retreated homeward bound and I felt as though it were an entire day’s worth of events. My props to all the mommies that do this day in and day out without complaining and smiles on their faces. I solute you.

Haha… Been there, done that..and more than once 🙂 There are days we aren’t sure how we do it either. But an occasionally acknowledgement is always nice. Love the butterflies, how cool!
