The countdown continues… we’re into the twelve days of Christmas now and for us, some of our favorite presents to give to the families around us (and to get for our own family) are all about togetherness. So to celebrate #mykindofholiday family style with Target, I’ve rounded up a few items that will bring the family together side by side, become a meaningful tradition in your home or help make the holiday season even more fun and exciting come Christmas morning.
holiday gift guide for the family

1/ One of our favorite “things” to do for the family is grab a few small blasters or balls and wrap them up as a big family gift… once opened we all spend what seems like the longest time running, ducking, hiding, dodging and laughing. It’s a great way to play together and burn off some of those eggnog calories.

2/ A great blanket is a necessity for so many cozy family afternoons together, whether it’s cuddling up in front of the fireplace, late night movie watching, picnics, blanket forts or trekking out to the beach. [$24.99]

3/ There’s no time like the holidays to start a tradition, and I love it when a family finds something that’s special to them… like milkshake Monday or taco Tuesday, or one of our favorites… Friday movie nights with fresh popcorn, add some kettle seasoning and we’re all happy campers! [$39.99]

4/ Warm up your patio and prepare for plenty of evenings telling stories ’round the fire making s’mores with your own fire pit. This is actually one item on our own family’s list. [$59.99]

5/ Have you picked up your special Christmas PJs yet? We always let our kids open one present on Christmas Eve, and every year it just so happens to be a new set of pajamas to wear to bed that night. Do you do that as well? [$11.99]

6/ Get those little legs moving and get outdoors, even if you’re in the snow! Fun sleds always make snow play more fun, and just seeing them certainly makes me miss the days of riding the hills in our neighborhood when I was a kid. [$79.99]

7/ Don’t let family game night leave anyone bored when there are so many creative board games available. [$16.99]

8/ Our kids literally jump with excitement when we say it’s time for ho-chos. Why not spread the cheer to other families you love with a few festive mugs [$1.99] and a box of your favorite hot chocolate.

9/ If you’re in a warmer climate like us, a sled might not get your family outdoors, but a bicycle sure will! These topped the chart on our kid’s wish lists this year, and though we listed one on our girl’s gift guide and boy’s gift guide, we were elated to see great bikes for such a steal at Target, like this Planes bike Brayden will be riding on Christmas morning.

I love that I can carry on the custom of one big gift for the family each year, is that something that you do too? And since we can’t always gift every person individually in the families of all of our friends, it’s great to find something that the whole crew will love. What fun finds do you love to gift to the families in your life?
