The moment one gives close attention to any thing, even a blade of grass it becomes a mysterious, awesome, indescribably magnificent world in itself.
~Henry Miller
I wish I could take you on a photo journey through last father’s day where we thoroughly, and I mean thoroughly, enjoyed each grain of sand under our toes and each wave that rippled over our bodies and splashed up on the shore. Show you the kind of excitement that made our lips turn up with pride as we conquered the monstrous sand dune, our little She-Ra triumphing over us all. And the laughter that bounced out of our mouths and onto the wet sand as we frolicked, yes frolicked, to the backdrop of an orange and purple sunset.
We were all wrapped up in our own indescribably magnificent world.
And though I don’t have the photos to prove it, save these three that I pulled from my memory card before it’s bereavement, I still have the memories, the joyous memories.
(If you look closely, you can see the people, the tiny little people on the top of the hill… it will give you an image of just how monstrous this sand dune really was.)
These memories will forever be with me.

Don’t you hate that when photos disappear from your memory card!!!
Lovely photos and quote. In May,while visiting our daughter and her husband in PEI we went to to the Greenwich National Park and the sand dunes ther were amazing. It felt like we were in another world.

I SO hope you find your memory card! How devestating! I love the pictures that you have though 🙂 Sand dunes can be all enveloping and it’s very easy to believe you’re in another world. We have Jockey’s Ridge here in NC, one giant sand dune. When you’re on it you can’t see anything but sand and ocean. It’s amazing.
