When opportunity knocks, like waking early and jaunting to the other side of a beautifully lit Golden Gate Bridge peaking through cloud and fog, I’m usually one of the first to rally. I might feel it later with a sore back and achy muscles, because duty… and sometimes long hours of standing in heels… calls. But I never regret it. Because days lie ready for us, open, unspoiled… and there’s just something good about the joy that comes with being tired at the end of them.
