The digits around here have been soaring, calling us closer to the heavenly mix of salt and sand. So while the thermostat in the house climbs and descends again in it’s own ebb and flow to accommodate the changing temperatures outside, we’ve been slowly making our way to the shore when we can… As much as we can. Sometimes we even let a quick dip in the pool suffice when there isn’t enough time to reach the beach, toes first of course, as it’s not quite warm enough to sink in without first “the dip and retreat” of toes, a few times over.
And while this week we’ve celebrated Cinco de Mayo (sans the tacos for me this time, thankyouverymuch), watched my first DIY segment air on daytime TV (with only a cringe or two!), applauded our Facebook page as it reached 1000 likes and Twitter sail past 2000 (you all totally rock!), and then happily cheered on cancer survivors while supporting our local Relay for Life… we will continue the celebrations this weekend with Mother’s Day.
My wish? To spend a little more time along our sandy slice of heaven with my family, my first Mother’s Day as a mom of three.
This weekend we will celebrate all the stripes us mamas have earned. Those late night rocking-bounces (if you have a baby, you know exactly what I mean), the many calls to the doctor to calm our own nerves about a sick or teething little one, those first milestones we cry through and the happy tears we shed while watching them spread their wings and soar. We celebrate that paradox between knowing who we are and these wee ones we get to call our own and yet not really knowing all that this role of motherhood entails. We celebrate the invaluable stretch that happens to every part of us, beginning with the heart, when we create life. We celebrate realizing we’re becoming who we were meant to be, something more than we thought we would become.
This weekend we celebrate all the mamas.
No matter where our Mother’s Day weekend takes us all, a mama has to have her most important accessory, her phone, protected at all times. And if you’ve been around this space for awhile, you know that I’ve long been a fan of the waterproof Lifeproof cases, and love using Otterbox’s Commuter Wallet case especially when I travel (it’s SO easy to have everything you need at the tip of your fingers!), so naturally it felt right to slide my phone into Otterbox’s sleek and waterproof Preserver case, which is ALWAYS on my phone around the beach or the pool. I feel confident letting my little ones walk around with my phone, snapping pics of each other or their favorite beach find, knowing that my phone is protected. And the best part? Letting them use my phone ends up yielding some really fun photos!
Plus, for those of you that have asked before, our underwater photos you see pop up around here sometimes or on my Instagram feed are all taken with my iPhone in our waterproof case.
Since we’ve been in the mood to celebrate this week, we’re continuing the celebrations by offering one Otterbox Preserver case to one of you!
Plus, Otterbox is giving away a $2500 shopping spree when you check our their sleek and stylish new Symmetry line, just click here to enter.
Happy celebrating this weekend friends, and Happy Mother’s Day!

I so love it when you post beach shots!
we are a long way from beach weather here, so it’s nice to see some sun, sand and surf.
I love how the little on is fascinated by the sand – my kids will play in their sand box for hours. And if you have the Avengers on your side – well, I might even join them! 🙂

Isn’t it amazing how something like sand can be so fascinating?!! I just love it, and love seeing the world through my children’s eyes sometimes. 🙂
