I’m sharing my favorite beauty routines that care for my skin while I sleep with Aveeno® Active Naturals as part of a sponsored post for Socialstars #Aveeno.
Many times our lives can be busy and complicated… but our beauty routines don’t have to be. In fact, I like to find as many ways that I can to let the products do the work for me, even pulling double duty. And I’m especially happy when I find ways for my beauty routine to work for me, even while I sleep.
Today, I’m sharing just a few ways I make that happen.
So, let’s recap…
First ALWAYS remove makeup before you sleep. Even if you do nothing else, your skin will breathe and you’ll improve the overall health of your skin while you sleep if you don’t have makeup on. I use Aveeno® Positively Radiant® Makeup Removing Wipes to take my makeup off, and then usually follow up with cleanser and other products. But there are just some nights, after some long days, where spending any extra amount of time in the washroom before falling into bed just isn’t going to happen. To avoid the pitfall of sleeping without clean skin, keep a pack of these wipes on your nightstand to quickly swipe off makeup, even waterproof mascara, oil and dirt in one easy step.
Also, try to go to bed with a full water bottle near you. When you wake at night, you’ll have something to quench your thirst… but what this is really for is to have your water ready for when you wake up. Water is the best way to kick off your metabolism in the morning, and by adding lemon essential oil or a squeeze of lemon into your water bottle (glass bottles only!), you’ll also jumpstart the detoxification process. Drink as much of it as you can before even going about your day and boost your energy as well!
Lastly, use that coconut oil! I prefer fractionated coconut oil, because it remains in it’s liquid state and is easy to use. Take a few drops in your hand and rub into the ends of your hair to let it moisturize and seal those ends while you sleep. Then, just wrap your hair in a twisted top knot and secure with an elastic. This will keep your hair up and out of the way while you sleep, saving it from more tangles and excess split ends from friction with your pillow case… and the big plus? When you wake in the morning and let down your hair, you’ll have natural waves ready for the day!
I even massage the remaining coconut oil into my skin, especially cuticles, and put some on my lips as a moisturizer for the night.
What about you? Do you have any beauty tips that work for you while you sleep? I’d love to hear them!

I’d add a satin pillowcase to that and lipbalm on my nightstand! I also learned from my eye doctor this year that if you sleep in your contact lenses that the drops you put in before bed are more important than the ones you put in to rewet when you wake up.

Oh my goodness, what fabulous tips and such a great video.
Oh my, I’m BAD with removing my makeup before bed. I should invest in those wipes.
Isn’t coconut oil the absolutely best?!
Thanks for sharing.

Loved the video!! Such great tips and I really like those wipes, especially on those nights when you just basically FALL into bed. I can’t stand to go to sleep with makeup so I always take it off no matter what. And coconut oil….yesssss! Love that stuff. Also, love your water bottle!!!

Great post!! I often go to bed with a glass of water beside me. I’m not a lemon fan though so I wouldn’t add that, maybe the essential oils. And I’m often so bad for just stripping down and going to bed, face unwashed!!! So bad!!!!

LOVE your video! Love the tip about the coconut oil and your hair. That is amazing. Never knew that. I also need to get better about taking my makeup off at night. You know, the three days a week that I do put it on. 😉 Lovely tips, friend!

Love these tips! Never thought of massaging coconut oil into my hair at night! I twist my hair up when I’m running but never thought to do that at night. That makes perfect sense!

Thanks Denise!!! Yes, it works wonders!! Just make sure to get it into the ends, and not your crown, so your hair doesn’t get greasy from it. I sleep with my hair twisted up every night! 🙂

I’ve been using unscented, alcohol free baby wipes for years to take off my makeup. I honestly don’t know what to do if I run out. Splashing water on my face just doesn’t do the trip 🙂

Haha, right?! So much gunk comes off with those things! 🙂

Ha…I meant trick not trip !!! 🙂

Totally essential!!! I can’t even sleep if I haven’t… but so many don’t. I’m still trying to get my mom to do it! And I’m with you, coconut oil for EVERYTHING! 🙂
