Have you ever created a vision board but felt like it didn’t actually help you achieve your goals? The truth is, making a vision board that actually works starts before you grab your scissors and glue and get crafting, and in today’s episode I’m diving into the essential steps you need to do to lay the groundwork to ensure that your vision board is a powerful tool that drives real results and turns your 2025 dreams into a reality.

In this episode, I discuss:
- My approach to vision boards and how I’ve achieved some of my biggest and seemingly audacious dreams – including working with Oprah and writing two books!) – through creating vision boards and doing the crucial groundwork steps first.
- The first step of using your camera roll to reflect on your previous year to help you gain clarity on what you want for the year ahead. Life moves so quickly that it’s often easy to forget just how much you’ve accomplished and experienced, and by taking time to reflect on your highlights you can see what brought you true joy and fulfilment. Pay attention to how you feel when looking back at your photos, to see what you want to call in more of this year – for me, doing this practice helped clarify how important travel and adventure is for my family, and how much I loved feeling strong and good about myself when I was in a good fitness routine.
- The second step is heavier but just as important – ask yourself, what were the hardest parts of my year? It’s often our challenges and failures that teach us more than our successes or wins do – they can show us where we need to grow, what we need to let go of and what no longer serves us. Don’t shy away from feeling all the emotions because these are signals pointing you towards what you need to heal, let go of and change. The third crucial step to lay the groundwork before you create your vision board is reflecting on what you want to change. You are the architect of your life and if something feels out of alignment, you have the power to change it. Once you’ve identified what you want to change, you can use the “Start, Stop, Continue” framework to help you bring about that change. It’s all about identifying what you need to do to start building the life you want, what unproductive habits or activities you need to stop and what’s already working well that you want to continue.
