Put a little pumpkin spice on it! 🍂🎃🍂 A little pumpkin spice on our fall kids room decor.
Does anyone else like to change up the indoors for the seasons, too? Here in Florida, we don’t quite experience fall the same way, but I do like to make it LOOK and FEEL like fall in our home.
As the leaves begin to change colors and fall from the trees, it’s time to celebrate the new season with some fun fall kids room decor. From cozy blankets to classic reads, there are plenty of ways to decorate your child’s bedroom for fall without breaking the bank—and stay within a budget that works with your time constraints, too. Here are our favorite fall kids room decor ideas, both DIY and store-bought, that will have you feeling the season in no time!
We converted the twins this week 😭 and then decided to spice up their room with a bit of fall decor perfect for kids! Loving my lil’ cute pumpkins 🎃🎃… that like to play with the felt pumpkins, fall books, and their new cozy beds 😍.
Fall Kids Room Decor Ideas #1 – Accents
If you’re looking for a way to accentuate your nursery’s fall decor, try colorful prints. Imagine how gorgeous these prints would look hanging above your child’s crib! Hang two or three prints on one wall using removable adhesive hooks (like Command Picture Hanging Strips).
This season, we didn’t change out the prints in the room, and I don’t have a place over the crib to hang prints. So instead I added some adorable felt and yarn accents for a rustic, yet whimsical, feel. The I just hung above the cribs with a leather string tied to the curtain rod (and the curtains just close over top of it at night). And the is a sweet addition over the bookshelf.
Fall Kids Room Decor #2 – Bedding
Although it’s not necessary to invest in a new duvet cover and comforter, a new set of pillows or throw blankets will bring a huge pop of color to your fall decor. Make sure they’re stylish enough for you to enjoy all season too – anything resembling a pumpkin or turkey will probably end up in storage. 😉
We are ALL loving – and everyone keeps snagging them from the twins’ beds to cozy up on the couch. I think we may need to order a few more.
Fall Kids Room Decor #3 – Kids Books
There’s a certain magic about leafing through a picture book as an adult. You can remember all those books from your childhood that you read over and over again, to yourself or to your younger siblings. When it comes to decorating a kids room for fall, books are a great way to incorporate seasonal accents.
We created a whole round-up post on our FAVORITE fall books for kids. From board books for the little ones, to full series for the teens and everything in between, we’ve got you covered on a great selection to add to your fall library.
But here’s the thing, the local library always has a great selection too!
So, start your own collection, and fill in with a handful of library books for the season.
Fall Kids Room Decor #4 – Pumpkins
Add a little fall magic to your child’s room with a collection of pumpkins arranged on a shelf. We love these felt options from the sale bins are Target, and I’ve got a collection of faux mini pumpkins started from last year that are adorable on the bookshelf in our new fall wagon, too.
There are many other ways to do add pumpkin to fall room decor too – from tying them with ribbons or hanging them from above. You can even create a wall hanging by stitching several pumpkins onto a canvas and hang it over the bed, or in our case, the cribs.
