Who doesn’t love waking up to some sweet words whispered in your ear, or a special note left by a loving heart.
Recently, at our #PROJECTlipstick Event, we all left with special notes to ourselves, words of love and inspiration to get us going in the morningโฆ hand drawn on our own morning coffee (or tea!) mugs. These are great to use everyday, but they’re especially for the days when we might not wake with confidence or those days we feel a little less than inspired, because let’s face it, we all have those days! So, join us and create your own little bit of morning sunshine. It really is easy to do.
Supplies:
Mugs (we used these inexpensive ones from Ikea) and paint pens (we used Sharpie oil based paint pens).
Directions:
Write your inspirational note on your mug, draw your designs and paint until your heart’s content! Use a phrase that means something to you, something that will make you smile when you see itโฆ you know YOU best, so don’t worry about what others think. Maybe you like to hear a “Hello, gorgeous” in the morning. Or maybe something like “Carpe your diem” or “It’s purpose time” will get you moving. We’ve got a few more ideas below as well.
Then, just place your mug(s) on a cookie sheet and place in a COLD oven. Allow to preheat to 350 degrees and bake for a total of 30 minutes. Cool in the oven, and make sure you let the mugs cool thoroughly before touching them because they’ll be hot!
We’d love to see what you make! If you feel like sharing, tag us on social media and use the hashtag #freshmommyblog so we can see your special creation. Enjoy your own inspiration mug!

I Love this idea!!
it’s so simple – but what a great pick up in the morning… or middle of the day – to have some words of encouragement wrapped in a warm hug!

That’s pretty cool. I must remember to pick up these mugs the next time I’m at IKEA. They would make great personalized gifts – for cheap! ๐

I love these- yours turned out so good! I tried my own out a few months ago, but realized I don’t have the best handwriting ๐
Tabitha Blue says
Haha, I hear ya Margo, I’m not the most fond of my own. The nice thing, is that you can wipe the paint off before it dries, so if you mess up and want to start over or fix something you can! Also, look for ideas, mix cursive and block and lowercase, etc ๐

Thank you so much for this post! From your experience I decided to go with the DecoArt markers and they turned out extremely amazing! I suggested my friends for the same.
