It’s here. And though I feel mostly prepared, I’m definitely not ready.
Luckily, I’ve got a great support system and a 3 year old that so far seems to be handling this like a champ. This morning he crawled into bed with me and said “Okay, Mommy, I’m ready to move to Moisiana!” I’m sure once we get there we’ll have a whole new set of challenges, including “Is the baby coming now?” because we’ve been telling him that the baby won’t come until after we move… I’m going to have to think of a new way to try and explain “a few more months” to him!
I’m excited to start this new adventure in our life, but so sad to leave some great friends in Clearwater. Luckily, I know these friendships will last a lifetime, just like the others we have collected on our way. I treasure each one and know the distance can’t keep us apart.
During these crazy few weeks, my advice to anyone is to be flexible and take baby steps! I’m already telling myself that my kitchen doesn’t need to be “showcase ready” right away. Being 27 weeks pregnant doesn’t help, but we’ve enacted a code word (peanut, if you must know) that anyone can say to me and I have to take a 10 minute break. It’s working well so far! (And yes, I’m writing this during one of my mandated breaks.)
So, the good news is that we’ve made it to Louisiana… And I think I’ll find plenty of new Cajun recipes and traditions to share here on the blog, so that is something to look forward to!
But I’ll start by sharing a few pictures of our last week or so!
