I am continually trying to live a healthier life. In the last few months I’ve been trying to step up my fruit and veggie intake. The easiest way I’ve found to do this has been to make smoothies at home, usually with a small snack at lunchtime. My normal routine is to throw a handful of spinach in the blender with some water and liquefy it.
After that, I add 1/2 a banana and whatever fruit is in season that I think will go together well. Peaches and raspberries. Oranges and strawberries. Pineapple and papaya. Yum! I’ve made a few bad ones, but almost all are delicious! Tip of the day- the riper the fruit, the better!
Recently, I read about a PB&J Smoothie and it sounded delicious, so I attempted a similar one. It turned out amazing and even if you are a smoothie hater, I think you’ll love it (unless you dislike PB&J’s, in which case, I can’t help you at all).
1 cup Fresh Spinach
2 T Water
1 cup Frozen Mixed Berries
2 T Peanut Butter
Handful of Ice Cubes

I’ve made this a few times this week and now after I make a smoothie, Max says “Mommy, is that peanut butter and jelly?” And if I say yes, he says (very sweetly) “Can we share?” It’s adorable. Until he drinks 3/4 of it.
Well, I guess it’s still pretty cute then, too.
P.S. Here’s a few snaps of the thief I caught while making my smoothie!
