Summer is right around the corner and with that comes swimsuit season! But swimsuit shopping? Ugh. That’s why we ordered a pile of swimwear to find the best swimsuits for moms!
Swimsuits for Moms
I believe that all moms have the right to feel amazing in their swimsuits and not waste their emotions or time on trying to hide what pregnancy has birthed in their own bodies. The beautiful progression that happens as we grow life. The shift in ourselves as we are birthed as mothers.
And while it’s easy to talk about and figuratively easy to embrace, it’s not always as easy to do once we start trying on suits that bare it all.
There is true power in embracing your postpartum figure and loving it, because its ability to change is what made you a momma! I’m here to tell you it is also ok to love yourself and your body at every stage of the process. True beauty comes from being comfortable in your own skin, do what makes you happy, wear what makes you feel beautiful.
The truth is, there is no “getting your body back” because she was never lost in the first place. She’s only become something different, changed – stronger.
Being a mom of 6, I can honestly say that I have experienced all of the emotions when it comes to swimsuit season. I personally don’t think finding a bathing suit for a postpartum body should be difficult or scary, but I understand why it is.
We are all still getting used to the changes in our bodies and with that comes insecurities.
I think the key is to find a suit that supports you where you need it, one that is comfortable and allows you to do all the mommy things, and ultimately one that makes you feel like a million bucks.
The perfect suit is going to look different for everyone, but I promise there is one out there for you.
I know some of you still aren’t excited about the process of finding the perfect suit, so I decided to do a little research for you and I’m sharing swimsuits that I tried out personally in my quest to find the most affordable and best swimsuits for moms. And I am going to share my honest review.

Textured Cap Sleeve Bralette Bikini Top – Cocoa Polka Dot
I actually found this swimsuit in the Junior’s section while browsing Target, so I have to say, the sizing options aren’t the greatest. I did have to size up quite a bit. BUT if you find one that fits, it’s SUCH a cute and fun look. The cap sleeves are so adorable and I added it to cart just to try it out… and ended up keeping it!

Comfort: 4 Stars – if you’re comfortable with a bikini style, and find the right size, this suit is a comfortable one.
Style: 5 Stars – I couldn’t get past how sweet the look is.
Support: 3 Stars – this suit has decent coverage, but isn’t designed for holding things UP.
Sizing: 2 Stars – since it was found in the junior’s section, the range of adult sizes is very limited.
Price – 5 Stars – only $19.99
Women’s One Piece Swimsuit Wrap Color Block Tie Side Bathing Suit
This is another suit that I’ve kept in my arsenal of summer swimwear – living in Florida, we get a LOT of use out of our swimsuits. The coloring on this suit is so fun and fresh!

Women’s Ribbed Square Neck Cap Sleeve Medium Coverage One Piece Swimsuit
The color of the season! Have you noticed the plums and purples and burgundies making their way to summer fashion? This is such a great color in a suit that is flattering and truly allows for all of the movement and demands of motherhood.

Women’s One Piece Swimsuit Color Block One Shoulder Bowknot Bathing Suit
Another great color! I ordered in the color coffee/white and love it! The cut also feels very flattering and comfortable while holding everything in.
Update: This suit has over a thousand reviews on Amazon and ranks well, however some are saying that once wet, the white isn’t as opaque as it should be. I haven’t gotten wet in this suit yet, so I can confirm what’s true.

Women’s Pique Bandeau Classic One Piece Swimsuit – Kona Sol
I LOVE the floral pattern of this suit. As soon as I slipped it on I felt like I was in vacation mode. It can be worn as a strapless suit without the strap around the neck, however, I felt more comfortable with the support when using the strap. If I were sunbathing sans kids, I would remove it, but definitely keep it on to chase the kids around.

Square Neck Wide Strap Ribbed Bikini Top
It’s not always easy to find a bikini swimsuit that offers full coverage on top. For me, especially when still in a season of nursing little ones, this is something I need and look for in a suit. In that regard, this striped two-piece is a winner. Definitely swimwear that you can jump and play in, with or without kids.

Women’s Vintage Lace Swimwear Bathing Suit
I’ve seen variations of this suit showing up all over the place, and I am so drawn to the elegance of this lacy style. Being a one-piece with adjustable straps, I felt comfortable in this suit and kept it for my own summer swimwear rotation!

Women’s Twist Bandeau Medium Coverage One Piece Swimsuit
The bandeau twist is so pretty on this suit! I’ve always loved a bandeau look, but needing more coverage, haven’t found on that fits in the typical bikini style. This one-piece makes it work! And with optional straps to keep you supported, it works for when sunning or playing. I did have to size up in this suit, and it seems to have a shorter body (which means I’d avoid it if I had a long torso).

Women’s Light Lift Ribbed Tie-Front Cut Out One Piece Swimsuit
The cut out on this swimsuit is so beautiful and seems to fall at a good place, still offering enough coverage and some lift as well. I did find the need to size up in this suit as well.

I love the squareneck plum one piece! I tend to be more self-conscious about avoiding cleavage (but always wanting sculpted support from a suit having a modest neckline) vs. embracing my pear-figure hips (I think, on the other hand, are my asset!) with a higher cut leg style. The dealbreaker with swimwear for me, though, is: making sure the bodice can hide backfat (aarrgghh!) from behind (which strappy-type or scoop cutout suits won’t do, in my case).
