Back to School Essential Oils for Kids and Adults
I tried to keep this list as simple and straightforward as possible.
Of course, there are many oils that work multi-purpose, meaning I could give a much longer list, but I wanted to share something that didn’t seem overwhelming and that you could easily add into your daily life!
You’ll notice I recommend a couple of blends as well. There are some pre-made blends you can purchase that have a combo of the most effective oils.
Purchasing these essential oil blends can save you TIME & MONEY, which is something all of us can appreciate I’m sure. The first blend in this image is Sheild, which is a potent blend of Clove, Cinnamon Bark, Lemon, Eucalyptus, and Rosemary to protect and boost the immune system. The second blend listed is Digest which can assist you in supporting, restoring, and maintaining a normal balance with your digestive system. The digestive blend of Lemon, Spearmint, Myrrh, Fennel, and Ginger is a powerful combination to cover a wide range of troubles. Instead of purchasing each of these essential oils separately, I absolutely RECOMMEND grabbing them pre-made.
Another way to make essential oil application easy, especially for kids, is to pre-make these blends and put them in a roll-on bottle! Just add a few drops of each oil and top with fractionated coconut oil, or another carrier oil, so the blends can be applied simply and easily as well as being a more portable option. I also love to use salves, and if I don’t have a pre-made version on hand, I’ll create one by added in essential oils to a base salve for a thicker application.
As shown above Vetiver, Cedarwood and Lavender Essential Oil are great as a mix to help with focus and attention and can even help relieve symptoms of ADD and ADHD.
Another pre-made blend that has specifically shown huge improvement with ADD and ADHD symptoms is Jeddy’s Blend, containing Lavender, Marjoram, Roman Chamomile, Ylang Ylang, Sandalwood, Vanilla, Spruce, Rosewood, Blue German Chamomile, Frankincense, Vetiver, Patchouli, and Fractionated Coconut Oil.
With kids and essential oils, less is best. Just a couple of drops (or creating your pre-made roll-on bottles) are all you need to see a difference! When you’re applying oils topically, always dilute with a carrier oil, like fractionated coconut oil or sweet almond oil.
Great areas to apply these blends are either to the affected area, like the stomach for a tummy-ache, or to the bottom of the feet and toes, to the back of the neck and on the wrists.
While talking about essential oils for kids, if you want easy and convenient oil blends that already contain the perfect ratio with Fractionated coconut oil and are ready-to-use, this Kid Safe Roller Collection is the way to go!
It includes Homework Helper roller bottle to help with focus and attention, Boo Boo Blend roller bottle for cuts, bruises and bug bites, Sleepy Head roller bottle to help kids ease into bedtime, and Tummy Buddy roller bottle for any digestive woes and upset tummies.
We’ve got our back to school essential oils toolkit stocked, along with some great salves that I apply and are ready for the school year, and hoping to avoid that first-month “bug” that usually gets passed around.
What about you, are there oils in your daily routine that you love? I’d love to hear about it! And if you’ve got essential oil questions, feel free to ask them below.
Colin McArthur says
My wife worked in the school system for 3 years and was bringing something home all the time. Once she fully started incorporating the oils into out lives and basically went to work slathered in oils there was a noticeable difference in how often she was catching something. You’re right when you use the term ‘Shield’ because thats what these oils seem to do
