Grilling is an almost daily occurrence in our household, especially this time of year. So, I’ve been having fun with SMOKING our recipes using @westernbbqwood wood chips on our gas grill (did you know that was a thing?!) And this smoked blueberry cobbler has become a crowd favorite!
I’m loving it. My most recent delicious experiment: Smoked Blueberry Cobbler.
To answer your question — Yes! It’s as good as it sounds.
I have always been a major fan of cobblers, I love that they are both tangy and sweet and have a variety of textures… smooth, gooey, and crunchy. Plus, with this recipe, the smokiness adds another layer of rich flavor to this already delish dessert.

2 Easy Tips for the Best Smoked Blueberry Cobbler
The Berries:
You can definitely use frozen berries, I totally understand the convenience of being able to buy them year round and from my experience there isn’t a huge flavor difference with frozen blueberries. But, when given the chance, I personally love using fresh berries whenever possible.
The Smoke:
While I am a major fan of the gooey fruit filling and I love the crunchy crust of the cobbler—the smoke is what takes this sweet dish to a whole other level. And from my experience not all smoke is created equal. For example, dirty smoke can ruin a dish, giving it a sooty bitter flavor. That’s why I recommend the Western Premium BBQ Wood Chips from Western Wood. We’ve used their wood exclusively this summer and they provide a long and clean burn, giving our dishes that delicious rich smokey flavor without any of the unsavoriness.
